Back to the drawing board. That's where Lily Evans had gone. She had almost forgotten about her 12" Ancient Runes parchment that was due in a couple of days...that she hadn't started. She had been dwelling on her night with James like a fool. He had completely humiliated her in front of her peers. But apparently not as badly as Lucius Malfoy had been humiliated. She just...she wanted to hit James for all he had done. Who did he think he was? She laughed to herself and slowly looked around the library. There were only a few students left, which was to be expected. The time was getting later and later. She looked down at her paper. She was only 2" in.
"Ancient runes are..." She tried to start a new paragraph but found that her writers block was persisting again. She pressed her quill into the parchment and then put it down. She pressed her finger to her nose and drew her book toward her, reading a couple of pages. She absentmindedly looked at some of the pictures. She became bored again and got up, circling the table like she was pacing.

Marcas walked into the Library. It was probably too late to actually make a good start on his homework but he'd atleast make some progress. He hated homework...Surely class work was enough. His thoughts were interupted by his eyes landing on Lily. James Potter was after her...However he could still make a move. After giving himself permission to go and talk to her he made his way over.
"Lily Evans right? I'm wondering do you have a BandAid? Because I scraped my knee falling for you."
After a few moments he added. "I'm Marcas Knight." He allowed all his Veela charm to seep into his speech and posture. "You look like you're having trouble with something..." He smiled.

Lily's head snapped up and she stared at him. She stopped pacing around the table and bent down for her bag, "A bandaid? Yeah..." She dug through the pockects of her leather school bag until she found her first aid kit. She would never go anywhere without it. It was important for her to make sure that none of her injuries ever got infected...her mother had taught her that when she was younger. She held the bandage out to him and then his words started to sink in. I scraped my knee falling for you. She blushed profusely and drew her hand back, the bandaid scrunched up into a ball.
He introduced himself and then was looking at her papers, "Lily Evans, you already know me, Maracas." She said with a laugh and a shake of her head. She should have known that he didn't actually need the bandaid. He was notably a flirt and one of the biggest players that Ravenclaw had ever seen. She thought he probably even rivaled Sirius Black, "Just Ancient Runes...Know anything about it?" She asked.

Marcas tried to hold in his laughter but when she finally got it he let it out. As his laugh died down he said. "I love it!"
Marcas moved over to her standing beside her he lened towards her paper and the book. "No I don't although I do know how to talk about crap for ten inches." Marcas looked back to her and smiled.
"Do you know what else is 10"?"
Marcas knew he was being slightly dirty but he needed to get a reading to see how he should continue the smooth talking plus he just couldn't help himself.

Lily blushed even more, feeling rather self-conscious around Maracas. His barrage of jokes were beginning to make her uncomfortable and she shifted on her feet uncomfortably before she sat down in the chair in front of her Runes work. She ran her hand through her hair and then looked down at the paper, "Hmmm...Also 10" would be my History of Magic essay on the importance of the Wizarding War of 900AD. And, my 10" Potions Write up on how to administer the Draught of Living Death to overconfident, arrogant boys who can't keep their minds out of the gutter."
She looked up from her work and raised an eyebrow at him. She put on a silly smile, trying to disguise the fact that she had just blatantly insulted him. She wasn't sure that anyone had ever told Marcas no, but that seemed to be what Lily told every guy. It was beginning to become her go to answer for everything in general. Plus, he reminded her somewhat of James Potter. She shook her head. Ugh. Potter.

Marcas sighed heavily. Ok so keep any jokes clean. He pulled up and chair and rested his head on the table. He wasn't happy. Infact he was pretty miserable.
"I'm sorry if I offended you Lily...I guess you get enough guys trying to chat you up without me adding to it..."
He was sincre. He didn't like it when he made a girl angry enough to insult him.

"Ha! Hardly." Lily said and brushed some of her hair behind her ear. She did get a lot of boys trying to talk to her all the time, but she normally found some excuse not to talk to them. Boys were a distraction from school work and that was simply not to be had. She ran her hands over her parchment and then picked up the quill, determined to write something. She didn't speak for the next couple of minutes, just scratched a few sentences about the importance of learning how to deal with Ancient Runes in everyday life.
She looked up after a little while and bit her lip, "I didn't mean to last out." She said finally and rolled her eyes, "I tend to have a bit of a temper. You can just chalk it up to the hair." She said, pulling at one of her red strands.

Marcas sat up slightly looking at her. No smile lit his face but when she spoke a small smile appeared. "I should be doing my work too...But I'll do it in the morning or later...." Marcas watched her she still seemed to be struggling to write anything down. "Lily do you know what I do when I have writers block? I forget about it for a while...If you forget about it then it'll all just come to you...." It was obvious school work was very important to Lily and Marcas wanted to help in at least some way.
Marcas looked at her again. "So Lily...You're a Prefect? How's that working out for you?"

Lily smiled. Okay, so maybe Maracas wasn't as much as a player as she thought. He seemed to actually be acting semi-normal and it was refreshing. She pulled her hair over one of her shoulders so that it was all bunched up on one side. That normally stopped her from playing with it, "Alright, I'll bite. This is me trying to get my mind off of Runes." She said with a small laugh and put her quill down. She stretched her arms for another moment before she spoke.
"Being a Prefect-" She shook her head, rather unsure about what she could say about being a prefect, "Well, it definitely has its perks, that's for sure. Have you ever seen the Prefect's bathroom? It's bloody brilliant." She said and giggled slightly, she put her hands on the table and stood up, "Plus, you can stay out past the curfew and no one can say anything...you just tell them that you're on duty and poof! All thoughts of reprimand disappear!"

Marcas smiled. A random thought popped into his head and he said. "Ok I've only ever seen ONE prefect bathroom so....What's up with that? Surely there should be gender segregation...." Marcas looked at her and laughed. No matter how small he makes the talk it's more interesting than doing any of his work and Lily needed to chill out for a bit. "So Lily have you ever just said 'I'm on duty' and then gone and done something you're not supposed to? C'mon I won't tell...If it'll make you feel better you can ask me something so you have some dirt on me too..."
Marcas loved playing these little games. Information swapping. Truth or Dare that sort of thing, they usually made a really bland day slightly less boring."

"Gender separations for the most well-behaved students in Hogwarts?" Lily laughed and shook her head, "Surely you know better than that. The Professors don't think that we really need any type of separation and they're normally pretty right. Prefects are too stuck in their rule-bearing ways to do anything stupid in there." She shrugged her shoulders and flipped one of the pages on her book, curious to see if the writers block thing had worked. Nope. Everything still looked like gibberish to her. She reached up and twirled a piece of her red hair on her finger.
"As for doing bad things after curfew..." She pressed her fingers to her lips, "Well....It wasn't anything big, but-" She blushed profusely at the thought of telling someone about this, "Once I followed the Marauder's out past curfew to find out what they were doing...they caught me of course. But I just couldn't help it...! They always go outside after curfew and it was about time that someone caught them." She blew some of her bangs out of her face, "I guess that's not really what you were looking for..." She said with a tiny laugh.

Marcas shook his head. "So you think...I bet some prefects have done something in there...You can't have Males and Females in the same space for long until eventually something happens. However if it's true and no one has done anything in there...." Marcas reached out for her quill and he pulled out the piece of paper he keeps in his pocket at all times. "I just need to borrow this..." Marcas lifted the quill and began writing. Be the first to do SOMETHING in the Prefects bathroom. He covered all the rest on his list but this one he didn't cover as much. He didn't want anyone seeing his list. It was basically a window into his soul. He knew if anyone ever saw it it wouldn't end well.
He looked up when he heard her story of following the Marauders and he face palmed putting the piece of paper away and returning her quill he rubbed his eyes. "Ok first things first." He stood up closed her book and grabbed her hand. "We need to do something so you actually have a story to tell...." Marcas thought of what they could do. Not all of it clean.

Lily's eyes drifted over the piece of paper on the table that he was furiously scratching on, "What's that?" She asked, suddenly very curious. She wouldn't force him to show her though; that was too unlike her. Instead, she just continued to stare at it, watching his hand move across the page as he finished the line with a dot.
Then he stood up and slammed her book shut and took her hand in his. She stared at him with wide-doe eyes as she was yanked to her feet, "What are we going to do then, Knight?" She asked and laughed slightly. He was goofy, just like James, but he was somehow different. Not as arrogant...and yet still arrogant. Maybe he had something different in his blood. That would cause her to feel differently about him. She shook her head, that was a silly idea. Of course there was nothing different about him. He was just a normal Ravenclaw boy.

Marcas was tempted to tell her to mind her own business but he didn't when she asked what the list was he answered. "That is my list. My list that notes down and details everything I want to do this year and in life....It's kinda private..." Marcas ran a hand through his hair and clicked his fingers when she asked what they were going to do. "Well the depends. Do you want the clean version or the not clean version. The non-clean one's my favourite..." Marcas couldn't help it, he highly doubted that was having his head in the gutter. If it is then everyone's head is in the gutter.

He looked defensive about the list, so Lily immediately backed off, keeping her eyes off of it. It was his to-do list of sorts. A very interesting concept to her, "I will respect your privacy." She said with a small smile and then laughed a little, "I don't know. I feel like you should tell me what both of my options are before I decide to do anything." She looked around the library; no one was still around except for Madame Pince, and even she seemed to be sleeping on her desk, a drowsy smile on her face. Lily rolled her eyes and then turned back to Marcas. She straightened her Prefect's badge to make sure he knew who he was messing with, "I can't get into trouble, but you can. So...choose wisely." She said with a small wink and another girlish giggle.
