Sometimes Kronis just liked to stop time. He could sit for hours and stare at one person. Whether it be because they were beautiful or because they intrigued him, he could stop and stare for hours. Watching people was what he did best. That was why he was here. He needed away from everyone. He needed to breathe and be himself.
Kronis had been sitting at Kings Cross Station for a little over an hour. He was weaving through frozen people, touching certain people. One child sat frozen, lost in the hustle and bustle of being late for the train. No doubt he would be left behind, the whole ordeal traumatizing the kid. Others were stuck in mid leap towards loved ones. Some were yelling at each other. So many emotions in one place.
Kronis gently touched one little girl who looked so sad. Looking up to the man she was holding hands with. He was angry, that much was easy to tell. Looking back down at the little girl he noticed how tightly she clutched her teddy bear. Through the top of her collar he caught the faint purple of bruises.
Imagine how many people would see the world differently if they could stop time. Imagine the possibilities on how you could save someone if you could only sit down and watch one person for as long as you wanted. Would you catch the looks of suffering, happiness, love or joy? Or would you overlook that and just get where you wanted to go? Kronis often wondered what the world would be like if everyone could stop time.
Kronis made his way to the wall and leaned against it. He snapped his fingers and noise assaulted him from every angle. People finished their leaps, trains whistled, train doors closed, leaving the child behind. A father jerked his daughter hard because she was trailing behind. The world was a scary place.

Blood. Thundering around her. It was obvious to her trained ear by now. She could hear the sounds of hundreds of heartbeats surrounding her, forcing her into a dizzy-fit. Quinn gripped her head and leaned up against the wall. Val had had tried to warn her that she shouldn't have gone, that it would be too hard for her. She was still young, they said, still vulnerable...dangerous...but of course she hadn't listened. She needed to get out of the Clan's mansion. At least for a little while.
Quinn breathed in through her nostrils and was overcome with the smell of metallic-smelling blood. Right. I don't have to breathe then, She thought to herself and began holding her breath. Solutions. It was all about solutions for her. It was a little better this way; she couldn't feel the white hot desire as intensely anymore. She pushed off the wall and began walking again, trailing a couple of people down the walkway.
A couple stood kissing goodbye in the middle of the station. The woman was crying and holding her stomach. Her significant other leaned down and kissed her, pressing his hand to her stomach. He whispered I love you, and began walking toward the train. The woman held out her hand, bidding him farewell...there were more tears falling down her cheek. Quinn's eyes narrowed. She wished that she remembered what that felt like. She couldn't feel anything anymore...except for blood-lust. Pure and dangerous.
Thump thump. Thump thump. Quinn realized that she was listening to the woman's heartbeat. And staring. The woman looked up and cast a confused look at Quinn. Quinn's mind immediately went wild, It would be so easy to rip her throat out right here and-
She turned away and ran her hand down the brick wall, casting her eyes quickly away from the woman's accusatory gaze. She walked a few more steps, almost running smack into Kronis. She looked up before they collided and held herself still, "Kronis."

Kronis watched the little boy for another moment. He just stood there. Silently. Diligently. Waiting. Waiting for someone who wouldn't come back for him. Kronis had to look away. The little boy's story struck a little too close for him. He wasn't crying. Perhaps he had been purposefully left. Left for some other person to find him. Times were hard, after all.
Kronis looked up quickly. He hadn't even heard someone until they spoke. He had been too zoned in on the boy who sat. Staring. Waiting. Expecting. Kronis had to shake his head again. He was getting consumed by the poor boys suffering and that would help no one.
Finally it seemed to register in his mind who it was that was standing in front of him. She looked sort of familiar. Something in the back of his mind made the connection before he did. This stranger that was standing in front of him wasn't a stranger at all.
Kronis tittered as he leaned back against the wall, crossing his arms. He gave her a quick once over before slowly down, admiring her body. "My my my, Quinn, haven't you changed. Brought a Demon back by any chance?" Kronis couldn't help but find the hilarity in this situation. o say a heartless Demon she had went to the Vampires and, in turn, ended up a vampire herself.
Kronis spared another glance at the boy who hadn't moved an inch. He was almost sure by now that this boys parents had made him wait there. For a moment, as he stared at the boy, the entire room seemed to darken for only a second. A quick flicker of darkness. If Kronis hadn't been so attuned to time, he would've missed it.

Quinn stared at him for a long time, matching his equally long gaze. It wasn't awkward, the way that they stood there, sizing each other up. Quinn assumed that he was trying to place her face; they had met only briefly and a lot had happened since then...She had changed. Quinn's cheekbones had protruded, her eye sockets had sunken in; she hadn't gotten much to eat in the past day...Valerian had told her that the longer she starved herself before finally eating, the stronger that she would become. Bastard, She thought menacingly.
She finally took a breath, allowing the oxygen to fill her lungs and rejuvenate her. The smell of blood had lessened around Kronis (less people were in the station now that some of the trains had left), something that she was thankful for, but she could still hear his heartbeat in her ears. She almost missed what he said, but managed to catch the last bit of his question: Demon back by any chance? She sucked in some more air, suddenly overcome with the smell of the blood in his veins. So fresh. She was starved.
"Yes." She answered simply, not really sure what he had said in the beginning. Her hand instinctively touched his wrist, letting herself feel the rush through his veins before she abruptly let go. Sometimes she couldn't control herself.
She watched his eyes drift away from her to a boy in the middle of the station. Her brow furrowed curiously and she managed to forget about the dying hunger that was bombarding her, "Who is he?" She asked, pressing her fingertips to her mouth. She was trying to get her fangs to retract into her incisors so no one would have to see her in that state. It wasn't working.

Kronis couldn't help but raise a brow at Quinn. She was so obviously fresh it was painful to look at. Starving herself obviously. It'd work though, starving yourself at the beginning always helped in the long run. They had a few odd Vampires among the Hetilians. Most of them were diluted though, not full vampires. Not as strong as the Vampire sitting in front of his.
Kronis very suddenly wanted to tease Quinn. Was it really wise to tease a fledgling? No. Was Kronis going to do it? Hell yes. Kronis couldn't help but get himself in trouble. If he got to far he could always stop time. He always relied on his skills to get him out of bad situations.
"The boy? I'm not sure. I'm guessing he's been abandoned. Times are hard, you know." Kronis shifted slowly so he was closer to her. He pretended to crane his neck to see among the people. When he actually caught sight of the boy again he strained to keep his eyes on him. He didn't want to see his suffering. "I do believe that he's actually a Umbrakinesis. That would be why his parents abandoned him. They didn't understand." Kronis finished sadly. The boy hadn't moved. He doubted he would until he was carted out at the end of the day.

A crane of the neck was all it took. Quinn's train of thought was completely lost after that. His carotid artery was completely exposed to her. She wasn't sure if he had done it on purpose, but it didn't matter to her anyway. It was intoxicating her. She thought that she stopped listening, his words no longer meant anything to her. Her hand's moved to his neck, tracing the vein that protruded slightly on his skin. Her fingers ran down the vein, stopping at the edge of his shirt and then back up.
Her eyes drifted to his face, trying to show him that he was treading on dangerous territory, "What's a Umbrakinesis?" She asked quietly, her finger still tracing the vein. Apparently she had been listening a lot more closely than she thought. She could feel his heartbeat and smiled dangerously to herself. She could kill The Elemental right now. Drink his blood and-
Quinn, think about it... Was that her conscious? She couldn't imagine so. It had sounded like a man's voice in her head. Like...Valerian. She breathed a sigh. Of course he would be watching her like a hawk. Fledglings weren't safe.

Kronis told himself he wasn't going to pull away no matter how uncomfortable this made him. He often did it with Chelsea. She was also so unbelievable uptight that he had to mess with her. On more than one occasion he had almost died naked due to him having gone a little far in bed. He stuck his tongue in his cheek, the only sign he was nervous beside his heart.
The light shifted again and suddenly Kronis was sure that the child sitting in front of him was not there. Just a play of the light. Maybe he had been wrong. Perhaps he wasn't an Umbrakinesis but rather a Photokinesis. A Photokinesis playing a very nasty trick.
Kronis was on high alert as he moved away from Quinn and slowly circled around the 'boy' in a wide birth. As he was circling he was even more sure that this was nothing but a mere illusion. Kronis squinted trying to figure out where this light was coming from.
Suddenly he saw it. The small fragment of light sprung from behind a pillar to the left. Kronis looked at Quinn briefly before he turned to make his way down the platform to the pillar. He came around the back of it and stared at a teenager perhaps sixteen years of age.
"That is a very nasty trick you're playing." Kronis commented. The teen jump and looked back at him like a guilty puppy. Kronis crossed his arms like a parents scolding his kid. That was until all the lights along the platform glowed brightly and smashed. Kronis crouched too late as a figure slammed him into a pillar about ten feet away.
"Well, Kronis, great to see you again. Like our knew recruit?" The girlish voice questioned innocently. Kronis tensed at the voice. Madaline. How could he have been so stupid? And he was here without protection. Why had he doubted that she wouldn't be watching him. She knew exactly what to make the child do for it to stick too close to him.

Quinn could feel his heartbeat speeding up. She was more than positive that she was making him uncomfortable. His eyes drifted away from hers and again to the boy who was sitting in front of them. She let her finger fall from his neck and rest idly by her side as she watched Kronis' every move. He seemed to be doubting something about the boy. And then he cast a curious glance at her. And then he was walking away. Quinn felt her body tug after him. It was demanding his blood, but she knew that she wouldn't give in. At least not yet.
She took a deep breath and stopped a few feet back from him. She wasn't even sure what she was looking at. Dinner, perhaps? She bit down on her lip to stop the thought and absentmindedly looked at a brick wall. Then her attention drifted to the lights hanging above them. They began to sway violently and then exploded, showering the platform with tiny pieces of glass. Quinn ducked down, putting her hands over her head in defense.
She raised her head slightly so that she could see what was going on around her. Someone...a woman had pushed Kronis into a nearby brick wall. She looked ravenous. Quinn suddenly stood up and her fangs exploded out of her gums. She wanted to cry because it hurt so bad, but she instead stared at the woman. She was a threat. She felt...dangerous.

Kronis tried to calm down. It wouldn't do him any good to show Melaine that he was scared of her. It would get him nowhere. He concentrated on forming words around the tight grip she had on his neck. Kronis gulped, thinking of a way to get out of this but he couldn't find any. Melanie was touching him so if he stop time she would still be there.
"Pleasure to see you again, Malaine. Too bad we met on such horrible circumstances." Kronis coughed out. Melaine's mouth curved into an evil smile as she flexed her hand, sending Kronis into coughing fit. He gasped for air and clawed at Melaine's hand to no use.
Charity landing behind Quinn softly. She vaulted forward into Quinn to regain her balance and hit Quinn hard on the shoulder. "Just going to sit there, Vampy? It won't do you much good. Get out of here, Fledgling, you'll get nowhere. You can't help." Charity glared at Quinn as she approached the scene in front of her.
"Now, Children, I don't believe you are playing nice. Why don't I help you? Kale? Here please." Kale turned toward Charity and directed light towards them, illuminating the scene before Charity.
"Ahh..." Kronis moaned as he was suddenly assaulted by light. He shut his eyes tightly as the fingers tightened even more on his throat, crushing his wind pipe. "Charity, I don't think this is the best time..." Kronis sounded breathless and Charity couldn't help but laugh. Typical male. They need help but will never ask.
"Fine. Don't need me? Alright." Charity turned to lean against the pillar and tapped her combat boot impatiently before she looked back at Quinn, raising her eyebrow. "Quite a scene I've found myself in, isn't it. Can't go on one day of living again without drama, drama, drama. "

Quinn turned around when something went crashing into her back. She bared her fangs and then was surprised to see Charity. Vampy. She had just called her Vampy. That was reason enough for Quinn to want to stay anyway. Just to prove her wrong. Quinn would grab her vampirism by the...fangs and make it obey. Dangerous? Yes. In control? She hoped so.
Her fangs receded and she walked forward toward Charity, leaning against the wall just down wind of her. Charity was the only one who didn't smell like dinner. She smelt like...fire. A sickeningly sweet fire. It made her want to be sick. Quinn's nose wrinkled and she looked over at Kronis, desperately trying not to get killed.
"Never a dull moment." She finally responded to Charity and then inched closer to the woman who was holding Kronis. She didn't want to get involved, but if she had to, then she would. She knew that was strong, despite not eating for a while...she just didn't know how strong. She had never been up against them before. She wanted to protect Kronis. Maybe it was because he had just about been her dinner.

Charity bared her teeth at Quinn. They were still capped though, it was taking her awhile to get used to being human again and didn't understand that she didn't look that scary at the moment. She watched Kronis, waiting for him to tap out. He wouldn't though, typical male human-ish thing.
She's just going to sit there, isn't she? That's Charity for you. Won't help you unless you beg for it.Kronis was glaring at Charity who sat there... examining her nails! What a sick bitch she was. She was a far cry from human. Never would she ever have human emotions and empathy, would she? Disgusting Demon. Kronis allowed the disgust to flow onto his face as he looked at Quinn. Right now he'd rather go out as her meal rather than getting strangled. This one hurt.
"Where's your owner, Vampy? Forget to tie you up? Or did you gnaw through the leash?" Charity asked Quinn with a slight smirk. A vampire, how... hilarious. It helped Charity due to the fact that Vampires didn't like Demons. She didn't run the risk of being eaten anytime soon.

Quinn saw the look of disgust and pain on Kronis' face and she felt a tug of emotion. Raw emotion. It hit her like a wave of heat and she almost stumbled a few steps backward. She hadn't forgotten what it was like to be human. She was still part of their race....wasn't she? She wondered how long it would take her to rip the woman named Madaline's throat out and get her to stop. Her bet was too long.
Her head cocked slightly to the side when she made eye contact with Kronis. She stared at him for a long while, listening to his heartbeat from a few feet away. If she freed him, she wouldn't eat him, she reasoned to herself. Quinn finally tore her eyes from the scene and then went back to focusing on Charity.
"Valerian-" She paused as she said his name. Was he her owner? She wasn't quite sure. Who did she belong to? Was she her husband's anymore? A creature of the night? A half-breed vampire? She realized she wasn't even sure what she was, "He said to be back before sun up." She muttered and then took a few steps back, pressing herself against the wall. She was a prisoner of the Romanian duo Val and Thea. Damn them. Control. She repeated in her head. Just because Charity didn't have a human heartbeat, didnt mean that Quinn didn't want to tear her to shreds.
Her fangs were trying to escape and she finally just let them pierce through. What did it matter anyway? It's not like anyone cared what she was, "Where's your lover, Anderson? Marcus decided that he would let you out for a little walk? I find that hard to believe. He's very...protective." Valerian had been telling her stories about Paradise all weekend. About Shadow. And the way that they lived, "Checked on Grayson lately?" Quinn hissed and felt a smile creep onto her lips. Grayson. She imagined he would be quite the snack.

Charity couldn't help but laugh at what Quinn had said. Lover? What a far cry from the truth. She was far from lovers with Shadow. More like a punching bag. She still had bruises from the stunt she had pulled last night when she had tried to claw away from.
"Grayson is of no bother to me anymore. He is human. I'm Demon. The most I'll do is claim the poor sap." Charity wasn't lying. Her time in Paradise had done her good. And the beating she had gotten had hit her well into the proper Demon attitude once again. It was time to stop being weak Charity. She was a Demon, she was sure as hell going to act like one.
"Do you have a tag? Or shall I just send you to the pound? Valerian must be so proud of you, ain't he. A pet that will obey his every command. Tell me... does he direct you to do things? Talk to you everyday and whisper sweet nothings into your head as so that you'll be completely submissive to him? You're sure pathetic now Quinn, so lost and confused..." Charity laughed again and looked back at the scene. It was boring her. There was only so long you could watch a pathetic Elemental get strangled.
"Melaine, get off him, now." Charity said, making a motion towards them. She didn't stop and Charity shrugged, looking directly at Kronis. "Sorry, mate, did all I could without you asking me." Charity smiled and crossed her arms again.
I'm going to send her straight back to Paradise in a moment. Was all that was going through Kronis' head.

Quinn opened her mouth to return fire, but the words got caught in her throat. She pressed her nails into her arm and growled when she couldn't pierce her skin. She needed something to keep her sane, "Unfortunately, Valerian and I don't have that type of relationship. I wouldn't mind, of course. He has a few hundred years of experience that I wouldn't mind tapping into." Quinn finally managed to say and closed her mouth tightly. She shouldn't have said that. She was pretty sure that he was just around the corner, still looking out for her. Listening. She stared past Kronis at one of the lights that had burst, "You should make sure you watch your human, Char. Grayson would be quite the snack." She rolled her eyes.
She moved slightly to the left and then her eyes refocused on Melanie. She rolled her head to the left and then to the right, listening to her vertebrae crack as she did. Fangs bared, she growled a low warning to the girl. Emotions were tearing her brain into pieces but she was having trouble placing them. Then she realized it; She wanted Kronis. Not just bloodlust, but regular lust as well. She cursed herself for thinking such things, but it was too late.
If she couldn't take her anger out on Charity, she would at least take it out on someone. She felt her body roll onto the balls of her feet and then lunge at Melanie, fangs glistening in the little light that was left in the station.

Her human? She didn't have a human. Grayson was past. Charity herself couldn't believe how disgusting and infatuated she'd been with him. Paradise was a lot like jail, Marcus had said. It straightens you out. Being human is hard. You get sucked to Paradise so you can be cleansed of those emotions. Charity understood now. She liked being like this. Liked being a bitch. That was what she was supposed to be. Charity watched Quinn lunge for Melanie and turned away.
The platform had been cleared of people already, something about a shorted circuit or something like that. Charity walked away slowly down the platform, liking the darkness and silence she was walking into. She slowly left everything behind her, shutting off her senses and just enjoying the darkness.
Melanie hissed as Quinn hit her, sending her to the floor. She threw her off with ease as she jumped to her feet. "Stupid, Stupid Fledgling, aren't you? Don't you know this is none of your business? If you want a snack I'm sure there are plenty of petty human s out there." She sneered as she wiped her now dirty hands on her jeans.
Kronis was sent to the floor coughing. Air burned its way down his throat and into his lungs painfully. His vision went black as the oxygen absorbed into his bloodstream and was carried to his brain. Kronis was pink due to the sudden gush of blood that roared through his body like a tsunami.
