Ambrosette pulled herself out of the Black Lake slowly, picking up her towel and wrapping it around her lingerie. She hadn't been expecting to go for a swim but the Merpeople had drew her in again. They knew everything about the students at Hogwarts. It seemed whenever a student felt bad about something they'd come to the Black Lake and tell the water how they felt. Ambrosette was one of the few wizards who knew how to speak Mermish. She had learned it from a few Merpeople back on Virgin Island. She missed the Virgin Islands so much.
Ambrosette pulled out her sketchbook from her bag, closely followed by a pencil. She went about sketching Farnis, Prince of the Merpeople, as she usually did. Something about him just made you want sketch him. Ambrosette hesitated for a moment before she put the pencil in her mouth and pulled the red ribbon from her book. She pulled up her hair and tied it in a loose bow before she went back to sketching. As if Farnis sensed she was sketching him he poked his head above water. Of course he knew. She always sketched him after a swim

"Let me tell you something, mates. Gryffindors are the foulest of foul. The ghoulish Gryffs try unbearably hard to be liked by every other house. They play nice, they let people walk all over them. They might be brave, but they lack...ambition. Slytherins are superior! Slytherin is...Power." Lucius stopped walking and turned around to face the group of Slytherin students who had gathered around him. It was becoming a new tradition for him: Whenever the weather was sunny, he would give a rousing speech on the Pureblood Royalty and the Ghoulish Gryffindors. And every Slytherin who wanted to be someone attended. Horace Slughorn had even been in attendance once. Not that Lucius liked to brag about it.
The students around him were clapping when he finished his rousing little doozie and he nodded to each one of them, "Good show ol' chap! That was by far the best one!" One of then said and he tipped his imaginary hat. They all sort of drifted away, leaving Lucius in the courtyard by himself, absentmindedly twirling his wand in his fingers. He hadn't planned anything else for the day. He could do one of three things; Go back to the common room and be swarmed by women, go to the library and attempt to do some studying, or take a walk and not worry about either option.
He ran his hand through his blonde hair, although the first two options were tempting for him, he finally decided that he would take a walk. Clear his head. Talking so much had always been a passion of his, but he had talked to the Slytherins for over an hour and a half. He laughed to himself and began his decent down the hill toward the Black Lake. As he approached the Lake, he realized that he wasn't alone. Ambrosette was sitting next to the waters sketching. Of course, He thought, You give a speech about the in superiority of Gryffindors and then they all decide they want to be where you are.
"What are you doing?" Lucius asked, as he came even closer, his eyes drifted over the lake and he saw Farnis, "Honestly, what do you think you're doing? That's a good way to get killed, talking to those...freaks." He said and stopped before her.

Ambrosette forced herself not to jump. She had been so intent on Farnis that she hadn't heard the approaching footsteps. She would not give Malfoy the satisfaction of seeing her jump. Ambrosette tried to ignore the comment for as long as she could, putting the last line into the drawing before she closed her book and waved to Farnis. He waved back before he slipped back underwater to his kingdom.
Ambrosette carefully closed her sketchbook, taking the ribbon from her hair and tying it around her notebook, before she slid it into her bag and grabbed her clothes. She ran a hand through her long, white blonde hair as she stood up and fixed Lucius with her piercing yet bored look. Ambrosette casually dropped the towel and started to pull her fishnets and tight dress on, she bent down to lace up her high-heeled boots. She would not be seen wearing that horrid robe whenever she didn't need to.
Slowly, seeming as if she never reply to Malfoy, which could have to do with the fact she had no clue what to say, Ambrosette turned her head to look at him. Still she had no clue what to retort. House rivalry and feelings did not go hand in hand. Every response Ambrosette had to make had to be carefully thought out so as not to blow her cover. "I think hanging around Snakes like you would be a lot more dangerous, Malfoy." Ambrosette smiled as she stood up, pulling her bag up and over her shoulder.

Lucius watched her while she got dressed. It wasn't like he wanted to turn away. She might be a Gryffindor Lioness, but that didn't mean that he wasn't attracted to her. At least on a physical level. On a mental and emotion level, he knew that there would never be anything there. There was just something too different about a Slytherin and a Gryffindor. Plus, he was never in the mood for relationships anyways. They took too much time. And he didn't have enough time as it was. His Prefect duties were beginning to take a toll on him.
He was busy staring away that he barely noticed when she responded to him. It wasn't until she stopped talking and cast a smile and look his way that he realized she had been saying something. He could only guess what it might have been. He instead chose to nod and stared at her for another beat before speaking, "Right. Of course." He said vaguely and then ran his hand through his hair.
"What do you even do out there?" He asked, pointing toward the water where the strange Mer-Prince had just been, "It's not like you can speak Mermish." No one spoke Mermish anymore. He was pretty sure that everyone who would have spoken it died out in the early 5th century. Since then no one had cared to called to the Merpeople. They were dangerous and vile creatures...It might as well be a dead language for all Lucius cared. The whole lot of them might as well be dead.

Ambrosette tossed her hair over her shoulder. He was pissing her off in short. That was the weird thing. Although she may have had a girlish crush n him since first year, she still found him one of the most annoying and unbearable people at the school. He hadn't even been listening to her. Then he had the guts to sit there and insult her on top of that.
She bared her teeth at him before she turned to stare out at the lake. "I swim and have conversations with them. Yea, I speak Mermish. I prefer to spend time with them rather than the foul, loathsome creatures that dwell on land.... mainly you." Ambrosette sneered at Lucius, looking as if she wanted to throttle him. What was the point of talking to, even like a rich boy? That was a question she asked herself on a daily basis. Maybe she saw something in him.
Although he made her very mad, he could be an asset to that stupid new club she had joined. Ambrosette shrugged as she lugged her pack back against the tree and slid down it. Ambrosette pulled out her notebook and placed it on her lap, looking at Lucius expectantly. "You can leave now. Go find some of your Serpents to be all superior to. I have no time for children at the moment."

"Mainly me? I take offense to that, Ambrosette." Lucius sneered and spoke through his teeth. It was very pointed, the way that he talked to her. He could easily see this going badly and decided that he might want to take it back a notch; better not upset her too much. She was known to lash out, "I don't feel like leaving. I've only just gotten here." He sat down on the grass and leaned back, putting his hands behind him to support himself. He knew that his robes would probably get grassy, but he had to change anyways. He had a Slug Club dinner tonight.
Lucius raised his eyebrows when she informed him what she did out there with the strange finned race, "So you're telling me that you go out there to...talk to them?" This seemed an odd thing to him, he had never considered that someone would do such a thing, "What in Merlin's name do you talk about? I can't imagine that you have much in common with the Merpeople now, do you?" He knew that he was touching a sensitive spot with the Lioness. It was obvious from the way that she acted with his quip about the Merpeople and Mermish.
He didn't wait for her response, he simply looked out over the lake, admiring the sun touching the waters. It was a pretty sight, really...If one liked the outdoors. Lucius would much rather be inside at the Slug Club dinner, but that didn't start for another couple of hours. He had some time to kill and what better way to spend it then messing with a grizzly Gryffindor.

Ambrosette already felt like her head was about to explode. She could handle Lucius, in small doses that is. This was becoming a very risky overdose already. She ran her hand through her hair and shielded her eyes from the glare off the lake. It seemed to only be in this spot. She would not move though. If Ambrosette moved either way it would seem like she was either moving closer to him or away from him. She would stay where she was.
"You'd actually be very surprised how many students tell their problems and guilt to the water. They figure it won't ever tell. You'd never figure there is always someone listening..." Ambrosette smirked a very un-gryffindor like smirk. She knew a lot about people. Knew exactly who she could blackmail to get the job done. Yes, it was great to speak Mermish, despite what anybody might think. She was a snake in lion's skin. At least, her dad always told her that. She was damn proud of it.
"But I'd be very pleased if you left, Malfoy, not everybody enjoys your company as much as yourself. Don't you have somewhere to be? Like that stupid Slug Club dinner? How you manage to bear those is beyond me. Once a year and I've had my dose."

"Ah," It was starting to make sense to Lucius now. She wasn't saying that she was telling her problems to the merpeople, although he figured she probably was...she just seemed like that kind of person but--what she was actually saying was that everyone came here to talk about what was going on in their life. He felt himself chuckle slightly, "I suppose you know a little bit about everyone, then, don't you? Everyone's little secrets? How very...devious of you." He himself had never been a fan about talking about his feelings, so he wasn't in danger of her knowing anything important about him, "I suppose in that respect Mermish deserves to live as a language." He mused and scratched his head. He turned slightly so that he could see her.
"As for the Slug Club Dinner, I do indeed have to be there." He looked down at his wrist watch and smiled, "But lucky for me, it doesn't start for another hour and I prefer to be...fashionably late, if you will. Which, by the grace of Merlin's beard, means that I get to spend more time irritating my favorite Gryffindor Girl, Ambrosette." He stood up and walked to the edge of the lake. He folded his arms across his chest as he stared again.
"They're not as bad as one might think. Professor Slughorn will be a great contact after I'm out of school." Lucius said and turned around slowly. He stared at her for a long time, an evil grin creeping onto his lips, "Listen, I'm looking for someone to go with. Slughorn likes when we bring dates. It makes it feel like a party. I wouldn't normally invited a Gryffindor, but in your case, I could make an exception." He winked and took another step toward her.

Ambrosette dropped her head suddenly, her hair hiding her her suddenly red face. How could he just do? Go from being an arrogant ass to making her blush? It just wasn't fair. You don't do that type of thing to people. It's called mixed signals!! Ambrosette clenched her fists. my favorite Gryffindor girl, Ambrosette. She really wanted to lash out. She wanted to be as savage as the Merpeople for just a moment. Enough time to claw his eyes out. How could he not know what he was doing. Teasing her so. Ambrosette took a deep breath, her face back to normal, before she looked at Lucius and raised an eyebrow
"Me at a Slug Club dinner. No thanks. If I wanted to go to one of those I'd ask Lupin, not some.... Malfoy. Thanks for the offer though." Date? It wouldn't be a date. It'd be something they'd laugh about later. Dude, you showed up with a Gryffindor? Latest play-toy? She probably has no idea. She would not go anywhere with Malfoy. She would not get laughed at or made a joke of.

"What a shame. It could have been good fun, Ambrosette. You and me. Intimate dinner space. The lovely Horace Slughorn peering over our shoulders every time he had something he deemed even remotely important to say. What could be better than that? I will tell you, nothing. Nothing will be better." Lucius said with a laugh and then nodded his head, "Plus, you wouldn't want to go with Lupin anyways. I'm pretty sure that there's something seriously wrong with him."
Lucius had seen him a couple of nights ago and he looked awful. Like he had gotten hit by a train or something. Stupid Half-Blood Gryffindor...He was probably addicted to drugs. Or stalking Sirius Black. Or Lily Evans. My my how he hated every one of them. They were all so...dreary and grizzly. He rolled his eyes and tried to focus on the conversation, "Plus, he doesn't look nearly as good as I do in a suit. Trust me, my father imported my suit from Italian Wizards. It's custom made." He grinned wickedly and pulled at his sleeves, making sure that they were straight.
Appearances were everything in this world. Even though Ambrosette was a Gryffindor, she had what Lucius deemed an acceptable appearance. She was confident and sure of herself and he wouldn't mind having her on his arm at the Dinner. Reason kicked in and he abandoned the idea.

Ambrosette couldn't resit smiling. "Italian Wizards? Sounds fancy? Does it look as good as it sound?" Ambrosette had great taste. She couldn't resist suits either. Just something about them caught her eye and made them instantly 100 percent more attractive. Ambrosette hadn't noticed what Lucius was wearing, preferring to act nonchalant towards him, but now she took the time to look at him. She sat back and sighed.
If he was going to make a joke of her, she could do it right back to him. It wasn't like she was disliked. She was well known for playing with toys too. Yes, she could have a date with Lucius and get him back. It'd be a perfect night.
"Because if it does, I'd love to be there with you. Nothing like looking good at a party. Although, I take it there will sadly be no alcohol there? I'll have to supply my own? Pooh." Ambrosette tittered as she mulled it over. "There is probably something wrong with Lupin but he's so sweet. I'm sure if I asked him he'd take me. Why don't you take Narcissa Black? I'm sure she's itching to go with you." Ambrosette barely managed to keep the bitterness out of her voice when she spoke of her.

"Oh yes," Lucius finally deemed that his sleeves were straight and he looked back up at her, a smile creeping onto his lips. He always found a way to get what he wanted. No matter what, "It does look as good as it sounds. And to top it off, no House Elves were harmed in my suit's production." Merlin's Beard...Where had that come from? Since when did Lucius care about House Elves? He calmed his expression immediately, ignoring his momentary slip up and trying to play it off like it was nothing.
"Well of course I could invited Narcissa," He nodded as if it were a plausible idea. He didn't want to have to mention that he had already bedded and left the poor Narcissa Black. She just wasn't his cup of tea. Sure she was beautiful, but she had no personality. He rolled his eyes when he thought about her and then stared at Ambrosette, "But she won't cause near as much of a stir as you will, Gryffindor. No one is expecting this one. Surely we will be the talk of the party." The most attention. That was what Lucius was after. It made him exceedingly happy to be the center of attention.
He coughed slightly before he answered her acceptance of his invitation to the Slug Club Dinner, "Well, if you're going to be seen with me, you'll need to wear something a little more appropriate." He was regaining his snide Slytheirn attitude, "Slughorn frowns deeply upon fishnets. Especially those who have been ripped." He eyed her tights and then his eyes travelled upwards and he stopped on her face, "And do try and tame your hair. It always looks like such a bloody mess after you swim, Ambrosette."

Ambrosette sighed. He was being an ass again. Surprisingly, Ambrosette found she didn't mind all that much. That part scared her. She stood up quickly, picking her way to Lucius cautiously on her tall heels and soft mud. "Oh come on, Lucius, you know you like this at least a little bit. All this slinky clothing and the wild look. But I'll tame it. Why don't you make a list of what I can wear. I'm sure I'll have to go out and buy it. Nothing would be suitable enough for you in my closet." Ambrosette came very close to Lucius, not touching him, before she backed up and grabbed her notebook, seriously waiting for what she could wear.
"If we're to be the talk of the party I must not look like a hired whore. Something surprising. Me wearing decent clothing. It should amp it up a little." Ambrosette wink as she poised her pen to write.

Lucius genuinely laughed when she admitted that she must not look like a hired wh.ore. And that wink. That wink was intoxicating. He immediately cursed himself mentally for thinking such things about a Gryffindor. But it was completely true. Slughorn and the other students would be terrified and completely in awe if he showed up with Ambrosette Velna in something that was both age appropriate, sexy, and yet still classy, "Please." He said, crossing toward her and putting his hand on her notebook so that she couldn't write. He smiled slightly as he looked at her, "Don't feel as if you need to go buy anything. I wouldn't want to inconvenience you." His smile grew even larger as he drew back, pulling the quill out of her hand and playing with it absentmindedly.
"I'll have my father's house elf drop something off for you." He smiled dangerously and circled her like a hawk, appraising the situation, "Perhaps something...red, Ambrosette?" He asked, raising an eyebrow as he stopped in front of her, "It's a rather formal dinner but I see no reason why you can't look attractive and...put together at the same time." He snapped his finger and an old house elf appeared, bowing, "Bawly, please fetch Miss, Ambrosette something from the Italians. Tell them red. They'll know her size." He had done this many a times before...with different women of course, but the process was all the same.

Ambrosette glared in agitation as he took her quill. She slowly closed her book and stood up again. "You know, it wouldn't be an inconvenience but if you insist." She said slowly. Ambrosette was self reliant. She didn't like having things done for her. But she had to trust Malfoy. He knew what he was doing. He want to be the center of attention. So they would.
"When would you like me to meet you?" She questioned finally, gaining control of her anger. This dinner with Lucius was putting her on edge. She didn't know why. Hadn't she always wanted just a dinner with him. Now they'd have all eyes on them. That was all she asked for. After that they'd probably go back to his dorm and shag. Nothing more. That was all she wanted after all.
