What House? Why? Gryffindor. Although Lily can be described as a characteristic Ravenclaw because of her love for studying and books, she carries around a bit of an attitude about her opinions. She’s not afraid to let people know what she’s thinking, especially when they upset or anger her. Therefore, she must be a Gryffindor.
Boy Are You Funny Looking
Appearance:
Lily was a very pretty girl with thick, dark red hair that fell to her shoulders and bright green almond-shaped eyes. She thinks that her green eyes are her best feature and often wears no make-up so that their natural beauty can show through. She has a button-shaped nose, which her mother used to press and laugh when Lily shied away from her. Her face is almost child-like in nature, like a little girl who hasn’t grown up all the way; it gives her an air of innocence. She stands at about 5’4”, a medium height that she enjoys very much; she doesn’t have to tower over anyone and she’s not constantly looking up at everyone. She enjoys sitting pretty in the middle ground. She doesn’t like to be the center of attention, but her posture remains erect and almost perfect.
Height: 5’4”
Clothing:
Lily loves her Hogwarts Robes, and she can most often ben found sporting her Gryffindor pride with her uniform. When she doesn’t have to be in robes, she can most likely be found wearing her favorite pair of jeans, converses, and a light sweater. She also loves dresses; they make her feel free, dainty, and feminine, without drawing too much attention to herself.
Everybody Has Personality Flaws
Personality:
Lily has always been known to be an exceptionally kind-hearted, easy-going, and talented witch. She has the ability to see things in people, the good mostly, that they themselves often have a hard time seeing. She loves tutoring and helping other students in her free time and finds it extremely gratifying to see others learning alongside of her. She has a very small sense of humor, one that not many people get, and this is the reason that she is generally against pranks or any other type of mischief; she thinks that they are too hurtful and often unkind. And her good opinion once lost is lost forever; she doesn’t easily forgive and forget and often holds onto grudges for years. Though, this doesn’t make her bitter...Just a little aloof to those who have wronged her.
When in a temper, Lily had a sharp tongue, and had no trouble standing up to others. She hates seeing others being put down and made fun of. This is where her opinions and actions do not waiver. She is set in her principles and often unwilling to budge, even if it means losing a friend.
Grew Up:
Lily Evans was born on January 30 to Richard and Samantha Evans. She was the youngest daughter of the two, who had already had a daughter, Petunia. She learned that she was a witch as a child around age 9, after Severus Snape, a boy who lived next door, recognized her as a witch and told her of the existence of magic. The two became close friends after that day and often found themselves practicing their magic together throughout their childhood. Although she used to be close with her sister, Petunia, after Severus came into the picture, she found herself torn between the two. Then Petunia began to tease her and called her a freak when she saw what Lily was capable of. That tore the two apart for good and they never reconciled after that day.
On the day of her 11th birthday, just as Severus had predicted, Lily received a letter that told her that she was Witch and was invited to study at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Her parents were thrilled and extremely proud of her. She went to Diagon Alley and got to pick out her first wand, 10 1/4” Willow, “swishy” and according to Ollivander, good for charm work. After the shopping excursion, Lily said goodbye to her parents and Petunia (who had grown increasingly jealous of Lily and her new found gift) and boarded the Hogwarts Express.
She was promptly sorted into Gryffindor house and gained the attention of Horace Slughorn from a very early year. She was invited to join the Slug Club in honor of her accomplishments and she did so. As her years past, she began increasingly annoyed with James Potter and his friends as they were constantly trying to pull pranks on her and the other Gryffindor girls. She can’t stand bullies and James Potter is the biggest bully of them all.
She is currently going into her 5th year at Hogwarts.
Likes:
1. Books: Lily loves to read and to enjoy the written word, she can constantly be found in the library under a stack of 13 or so books or by the Black Lake reading some of her favorite Muggle Classics. Half of her trunk was full of books when she came to Hogwarts. They’re her favorite hobby.
2. Tea: Lily’s favorite muggle drink, she grew up around tea and loves the smell of it. She was surprised to find that tea is not often served at Hogwarts because it is considered to be a Muggle drink. She has been pestering the Headmaster to bring in some tea, not just for her, but for all the other Muggle Borns who miss the comforts of home.
Dislikes:
1. Bullies: This is the one thing in the entire world that Lily cannot stand. She hates those who have to put others down in order to make themselves look or feel better. She’s not afraid to stand up to these bullies, especially if they’re targeting one of her dearest friends.
2. Slugs: Gross. There is nothing more disgusting in the world than slugs. Last year in Transfiguration, Lily was supposed to transfigure the small animal into a teacup, but she couldn’t get within a 10 foot radius of the thing. Nasty buggers.
Strengths:
1. Transfiguration: This is Lily’s favorite subject at Hogwarts, not just because she finds herself increasingly good at it, it’s also the most interesting to her. She used to preform Transfiguration skills in front of Petunia when they were kids...she had no idea underage magic was forbidden at that time.
2. Standing Up for Herself: Lily is incredibly strong when it comes to standing up for herself and for others. She’s very set in her opinions and when someone crosses her or does her wrong, she’s not afraid to tell them so.
Weakness:
1. Sensitive: Lily tries to let things roll of her shoulders and not be hurt by them, but sometimes that’s easier said than done. She’s effected by what other people say about her and even though she tries to put on a smile and fake it, she’s easily hurt by other people’s words.
2. Easy to Anger: A characteristic that is common in most fiery red-heads like Lily. When she’s in a temper, Lily has a sharp tongue and has no trouble standing up to others.
Phobias:
Lily is fearful of losing her family and friends in some tragic accident. Especially with all the rumors floating around about Voldemort, she’s even more afraid for their safety.
Turn On's:
Lily loves when guys are real around her; they show their true feelings and their true colors and they aren’t afraid to be who they are. She often finds it easy to talk to them and easy to get along with them. She’s also turned on by people who think about their actions before they do anything; it’s important that they know what the consequences of their actions are for her to like them.
Turn Off's:
Lily hates bad boys and boys who try too hard to be cool or make others like them. She thinks that they’re superficial and mean and cannot stand to be around them. They’re brutish and hard to talk to and the complete opposite of her personality. She’s turned off by impulsiveness. She hates when others are too spontaneous and impulsive, mostly because it’s just not her style.
We're All A Little Weird
Personal Effects
Lily wears a heart-shaped locket necklace that Severus gave to her when they were 10. Inside is a moving photograph of the two of them when they were ten. It’s extremely sentimental for her. She hasn’t taken it off since he gave it to her and she wears it very near and dear to her heart.
Quirks or Habits
Lily is always playing with her hair; this is the longest that it has ever been for her and she can’t stop twirling it, or running her hands through it. She also has a habit of constantly looking over her shoulder. She’s wary about James Potter and his friends pulling some sort of obnoxious prank on her.
Extras
Nope!
Power Range:
Lily has a relatively large range of power, but she hasn’t explored much of it yet. She’s more about studying then actually using her magic. Slughorn, however, does see a great amount of potential in her and rightly so.
Sample Post
Lily tugged her bag onto her shoulder and almost toppled over with the sheer amount of books that had made it into the canvas sack. It felt like she was attempting to carry 12 pewter cauldrons inside the tiny school bag. She ran her hand through her red hair and pulled it further up her shoulder, making sure that she didn’t spill any of the books. She turned around and slowly made her way up the hill back toward Hogwarts Castle. She almost ran into someone who was running down the hill, yelling loudly about a Quidditch scrimmage that was going to go on soon.[/i] she guessed. She tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear and brushed past the vast group of people that had gathered on the lawn in front of the pitch. She wasn’t sure who she was going to sit with. Her bet was Severus would want to sit with all his Slytherin friends. She groaned as she put her bag down and flopped into the bleachers about halfway up. What was his deal anyway? He had been acting like a real jerk lately and Lily wasn’t exactly too fond of his attitude.
Lily smiled slightly to herself. Quidditch had been one of the things that she loved most about the Wizarding world, so she might as go watch. She hoisted the bag up again and began walking in the general direction of the Quidditch Pitch. The buzzing of voices could be heard from far away as she approached.
“Can you believe it? Gryffindor and Slytherin at it again!” One of the Hufflepuff boys was saying to a Hufflepuff Girl. She didn’t recognize them, but they looked pretty young. [e]Probably first years,
“Oye! Watch out!” Someone yelled to her, but Lily was too deep in thought to even notice. She looked up a little too late to see a bludger coming her way. A scream didn’t even manage to escape her lips before the ball colldied with her head and sent her flailing backwards over the back of her bleacher seat.[/blockquote]
