Charity found her way into the Entrance Hall, her eyes on her feet. She didn't want to be here. She wanted to melt into the ground. Stupid Voldemort, killing her parents. She was living a regular life, why couldn't she just be normal for once?
"Charity, you are aware that I'm only making this exception because-"
"Yes, I understand." She shrugged as she continued to look on the floor.
"Why won't you look at it?"
"Because I don't want it!" She screamed, the sound resounding through the hall. A baby's cry sounded after it. She looked up then, into her own striking green eyes. She groaned as the baby settled.
Dumbledore handed the baby to her and she took it with slow, measured movements. She watched as the baby slowly nodded off to sleep and she pulled it close, whispering in her ear.
"Once, you were everything I wanted. Now, all I feel is regret when I look at you. Don't ever forget that." She frowned as she turned, a tear escaping.

Cameron followed her to the entrance hall discreetly, and hiding under a bench. He knew he shouldn't follow her, but there was something wrong that she wasn't telling him. And as much as he wanted to trust her, he knew that a relationship with secrets was no relationship. He sighed and looked down at his body. He had his own secrets, too.
He hissed when he saw Charity hold the baby, who was that? What was going on. Lowering his head, he pulled his body back deeper in the corner of the foot of the bench to cover himself in darkness.

"Now, Charity. Is that anyway to treat your baby?" Dumbledore scolded as she looked up at him.
"Why should I treat it any different than how her father treats me?" She questioned as she cocked her head to the side. "It is my duty to take care of her but I don't have to love her. Nothing could make me love her. She's too tainted, Like her father." Charity shrugged as she opened up her bag and put her in. It was more like a cradle than she could ever hold.
She felt no draw to the baby, just like her baby felt no draw to her. It was impossible for her baby too love. The disgusting slag. Charity turned her back on Dumbledore and headed off down the corridor.

If Cameron could cry at that moment, he would have. Even for the cold almost heartless Slytherin he was, he felt a sting of sadness. Quickly darting towards the corner of the wall, he wisked out of sight until he reached the outside walls of the castle. The grass feeling good against his body. And then he began to walk upright again, walking away from the castle as far as he could.

Charity sank against a wall and pulled her baby out. The same eyes stared back at her, the only part of her she had inherited. Her hair was dark brown and curly. The creamy skin was not her own. Only the eyes.
"Haylee..." She breathed as she clutched the girl to her chest. Whether she liked it or not, this was her daughter and she had to protect her. Even if that meant protecting her from her own father.
She just assumed her daughter would never love because of her father but... you couldn't tell at this young of an age. "Haylee..." She whispered again as she cradled it to her chest.

Cameron sighed and turned on his heels, walking back to the castle. He wanted to just forget everything and leave school, but he couldn't. What good would that do anyways? An action taken during a fleeting moment of anger almost always leads in disaster.
He spotted Charity and walked to her quickly, not giving her a chance to move.
"Charity," he said simply with nothing else to follow.

Charity glanced up quickly, pulling the blanket over Haylee's head. The resemblance of her father was too uncanny.
"Cameron, wh-what are you doing?" She questioned slowly as she opened her bag and slid Haylee back in. She stood up to face Cameron, leaving Haylee on the floor. "Didn't I imply I never wanted to see you again?" Charity continued, gaining back some of her attitude.

Cameron gritted his teeth and looked down at the bag.
"Charity," he said sternly, "I know there's a baby in there and you can't treat her like that." As much as he hated that fact that she'd had a baby with someone else, that was her daughter and she needed to do the right thing- which was take care of her.

Charity stuttered as she tried to find an excuse. "Baby? Cameron, why would I have a baby?" Charity narrowed her eyes at him. "Are you okay?" She questioned as she placed a hand to his forehead.
"I think we need to get you to Madam Pomfrey." Charity threw on a mask of concern.

Cameron sighed and put his hands on her shoulders.
"Charity, I'm not an idiot," he said clearly, "it's ok, though. I'm not mad. I just thought.... you'd be honest with me."
He let go of her and turned towards her bag, gliding his hands over his neck and hair.

"No..." Charity protested. Once he saw her he would know. Know about the horrible thing that happened last summer. The horrible thing that had been growing. The horrible thing that she had given birth to, all upon his orders.
"No, it's a doll. They want to my baby sister in my hands because of my parents and the doll is to train me." She stated, hoping he would believe but even to her it sounded dumb. Nobody is ever trained as a mother, it just comes to you.

Cameron was loosing his patience with her. He'd already accepted it, why couldn't she just be honest with him.
"Stop feeding me bullshit, Charity!" he nearly yelled at her. "I don't care what happened! I love you and you need to accept that. So stop lying to me!.... please..."
He quickly looked around realizing they were having a very private conversation in a very public place. Lowering his voice and glancing down at her, he touched her arm, "be honest with me."

Charity pulled back from his touch. "It's- its a doll! A pawn! A stupid pawn in something much bigger. They just need me to take care of my little sister. I-" Charity was struggling, crossing story over story. "You don't love me. I'm not the type of girl guys fall in love with." She said as she picked up the strap of the bag and gingerly pulled it up to her shoulder. "Just a doll. ' She repeated in a small voice as she looked down. The blanket had come off Haylee's face. She slept soundly.

Cameron looked down at the baby, seeing her face and then up at Charity. "I don't care what you say," he said standing his ground, his teeth grinding against each other, "I love you. I don't care how much you push me away, I'm not going anywhere."
Looking down at the baby again, he tried to reach for her bag.

Stop." She said as she clutched the baby towards her body. "It's a doll." But she spoke too soon. Haylee woke from all the jostling and started screaming. Charity tried to shush her as her minute ticked by. She couldn't calm her. She tried desperately. Singing, rocking, nothing worked.
Her minute wasted away and soon enough.
"Charity!" Charity shuddered at the firm voice that resounded through the corridor.
"I'm sorry, she's fine. Just fine." She whimpered back as she quivered.
"Ssssh, my Darling. Jussst a little while longer." The baby instantly quieted, charmed by her father's voice. "Charity, I have trussssteed you with Haylee. I picked you asss a mother. Don't do me wrong." Voldemort's last words echoed through the corridor and soon his presence had all but vanished.
"I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry." She whispered to Haylee. She didn't understand how bad Voldemort was. She admired him. She might even love him. Charity shook her head, still shaking as she was bombarded of memories of her parents giving her to Voldemort for their safety. But, in the end, had been killed anyways.
