Riley decided that she was going to actually get out of the common room. She jumped up from where she was, picking up her books quickly. Riley grabbed the current book she was reading, 'The Big Book of Fairy Tales'. She smiled to herself, she couldn't get enough of the stories inside of it, from The Little Match Girl, to the Snow Queen, it had just about every single popular muggle fairytale. Riley walked out of the common room. She had about one hour until dinner, one hour to try and finish one story out by the lake. She didn't think that it would be too hard.
She suddenly stopped thinking about having a quiet, nice time with a book. Maybe she should try to get a few more friends. She didn't really have any. She shrugged it off, whatever. It wasn't like she was going to die of being friendless. If she made a friend, she wasn't going to go seek them out. She hurried to the lake, trying to grab a spot where there weren't many students. She sat down cross-legged, getting out her book as she began to read, forgetting about the outside world as she read.
Riley didn't usually zone out completely, but this time she did. She wasn't paying enough attention to notice if someone was coming near her, hell, she probably wouldn't even notice if someone was talking to her. Unless they took the book from her, she wouldn't notice, she wasn't counting on people noticing her either way, but there was always the off chance that someone would try and talk to her.

Fae was walking along the shore of the lake, people watching as she enjoyed the beautiful weather. It was amazing to her how differently the students at Hogwarts acted. They seemed so much freer, and at times completely crazy. She had just come to an area she thought was unpopulated, something that seemed like a miracle in the lovely weather. As she went to sit down she realized the tree she was going to sit at was indeed occupied.
“Oh! Sorry, I didn’t realize you were here.” Fae smiled and offered her hand. “My name is Fae Roux.”
She held her hand out for a few more moments before pulling it back awkwardly to her side. Not even a glance came from the tree’s occupant. Was she breathing?
Fae got down on her knees and poked Riley’s arm. She was indeed real. Maybe the girl was just lost in her book? Fae turned her head over and looked over the cover. ‘The Big Book of Fairy Tales’. Fae stood upright and nodded. That seemed to be explanation enough.
