Lucius stood in the enhance hall, pulling gently at the sleeves of his suit. It was going to be a long night and he felt adequately prepared. He had officially gotten a date, fixed his hair, taken a shower, and managed to find time to write part of his 10" Potions Parchment that was due tomorrow. Oh yes. He could definitely handle whatever this Slug Club Dinner had to throw at him. He looked down and checked his watch again. He was pretty sure that he had said he would meet Ambrosette here at 7:30 and it was already well past 7:45. If the girl was trying to make a statement, she had already succeeded. He had grown increasingly anxious and worried that she wouldn't show up.
He straightened his suit jacket and took a seat on one of the benches on the outskirts of the room. He pressed his head to the back of the wall and stared up at the high arched ceilings, counting the number of times the beams criss-crossed within a 12 foot radius. He loved the architecture of Hogwarts. It had always struck him as one of the most beautiful places on earth. His eyes travelled down from the ceiling and settled on a painting that was on the opposite side of the room.
With one quick sweeping motion he stood up and began making his way over there. He made it to the painting and laughed slightly to himself. Merpeople. It was a painting of Merpeople. They looked at him curiously and then hissed, sensing his dislike of them. For a painting, they were pretty intelligent, he admitted to himself.

Ambrosette made her way into the hall lesiurley, knowing she was already late. She had looked at the clock and noticed she was already late. Ambrosette had simply shrugged, putting a few more touches on her minimalistic make-up. Although she didn't enjoy wearing so little make-up it did her well, making her face more gorgeaous then it alredy was. Ambrosette stopped to lean against the doorframe and watch Lucius.
Ambrosette propped one of her feet against the door frame and crossed her arms. She had to admit the dress was flattering. It wasn't tight nor was it very lose. It accented her breasts well and showed her slim waist. Even the material felt nice on her. She offset it with her daring red lip-stain and her hair remained in a slight wave, pinned back slightly to show her angular face. Even Ambrosette had to admit she cleaned up well.
"Ahh, you waited. How very unlike you." Ambrosette finally commented, smirking. She had thought he'd leave but apparently showing up with a girl on his arm was a very important thing to Lucius Malfoy

"Waited?" Lucius turned around slowly and his mouth fell open slightly. For one, it was because he was beginning to think that she had decided not to show up. But here she was. Two, she was a vision in red, he would give her that. Whatever the Italians had picked out, he liked it. It accented all the right places without being too over the top. It would work perfectly for their little theatrical performance, "Of course I didn't wait. I got so distracted by this painting-" He pointed to the Merpeople who were still hissing loudly at him, "That I just couldn't seem to tear myself away. Plus, as you already know, I enjoy being fashionably late."
He offered her his arm and flashed her a smirk, "But just the same, If we're not there on time, we're not getting food. Did I forget to mention that?" He asked with a laugh and nodded toward the doorway to the dungeons, "They're held in the Dungeon area. A larger room adjacent from Slughorn's office." He wasn't sure if Ambrosette had ever been to a Club Meeting, so he figured it would be best to give her as much information as possible, "Don't eat the pastries at the end. They do awful things." He muttered under his breath.

Ambrosette couldn't help but wrinkle her nose. Yet another reason why she had picked Gryffindor. The dungeons were usually cold, damp, drafty and smelled like mold. She hoped to whoever was listening that this room was different. She was just happy that she only had to spend a few hours down in discomfort before she could go curl up on the common room couch in Gryffindor tower. Scratch that actually. She probably wouldn't make it back to the tower until late that night, after Lucius and her had engaged in and after party.
"Lucius, I hope your dorm is a lot better than the rest of the dungeons or I will be faking it." She warned as she took a hold of Lucius arm. "And I know you were waiting, Love, no need to worry. I'm gorgeous. Who wouldn't wait for me." Ambrosette flashed him a winning smile her she looked at the Merpeople painting, smiling slightly. It had always been one of her favorites. When she had been told about the Merpeople in the Black Lake she had been ecstatic.

Lucius grabbed her arm and pulled her forward so they could begin the small walk toward the room. He coughed awkwardly as the pair of them walked toward the Dungeon area, "Who said anything about coming back to my dorm, Ambrosette? Getting a little ahead of yourself, now, aren't you?" He laughed slightly and finally reached the door. He could hear the sounds of people's laughter already coming from inside. The festivities had begun already and he had missed introductions. What a shame.
He paused before opening the door to straighten his suit jacket and then promptly placed his hand around Ambrosette's waist. He flung open the door and walked inside. "Lucius!" The small group of about 25 students all seemed to say in unison. They all laughed and smiled at him and raised an eyebrow at Ambrosette. This was definitely the reaction that he had been looking for. One of the Slytherin girls he had been toying around with last year looked at him with her mouth agape and he promptly winked at her.
"This way, Am." He said and directed her to a table that was piled high with drinks. He pulled two of them off the table and handed it to her, "Here's to the Slug Club." He said with a laugh and downed his with a huge gulp. His eyes drifted around the room, bemused by the looks that the two of them were still getting. Everyone was whispering about Lucius Malfoy bringing a Gryffindor Girl to the Slug Club. Perfect.

Ambrosette accepted the drink and let her eyes stray from Malfoy to the rest of the room. She didn't know any of them. This was sure to be a fun night. She flicked her hair over her shoulder and took a sip of her drink before her eyes traveled back to Lucius. "This is great, Lucius, but if you ever call me Am again, I will cut your testicles off." Ambrosette smiled sweetly. Nobody had ever called her Am, perhaps she was just protesting the idea that Lucius had a nickname for her.
Ambrosette entertained herself by thinking of the perfect time to shatter the glass over Lucius' head. Perhaps when it came the time in the evening when everything was lagging. It would come as quite a shock. She's have to make sure he insulted her, which shouldn't be too hard considering every time he opened his mouth it insulted her some how.
Ambrosette leaned in close to Lucius, whispering in his ear so nobody else could hear it. "You may be right. We might not make it back to your dorm. Perhaps we'll end the might with a performance from us." Ambrosette drew back, winking at Lucius before she turned away from him and introduced herself to some Hufflepuff.

Lucius shook his head, but couldn't keep the smile away from his lips, "Behave yourself, Ambrosette. We wouldn't want the others to think that we're locked in some sort of hostile relationship, now would we?" He winked and then nodded at the Hufflepuff she was introducing herself to. Frank Longbottom he was pretty sure, although he had barely listened to the introduction. He was busy scanning the room again. He offered the boy his hand to shake out of politeness, nothing more, "If you'll excuse us."
He took Ambrosette around the waist and steered her in the direction of the dinner table. People were already starting to sit down and Lucius wanted to make sure that he had a good seat. Of course the table was round, but he wanted to be sitting directly across from Slughorn. That was the only way that he was going to get any attention. Plus, then Slughorn would have the best view for the theatrics that the pair of them had planned. He laughed to himself as he pulled out the chair for Ambrosette. He was being awfully chivalrous tonight. He would have to dial it back if this was going to be believable. When she went to sit down he pulled the chair slightly to the left, causing her to almost miss it.

Ambrosette balled her fist as she nearly missed her chair. Frank Longbottom took the chance to sit beside her and she smiled, happy to actually have someone nice to talk to. Although she knew right now she'd have to ham up the theatrics. It was her turn to retaliate against him for being an ass. It couldn't seem as if he were abusive. It had to seem like it was a mutual hate... which it really was.
"Lucius, who taught you your manners? A troll? We all know you resemble one quite well." Ambrosette smiled, taking another sip for her glass. She muttered a spell under her breath, touching the glass. There wasn't any change that was noticeable but it would be one of the easiest glasses to break when it came time.

Lucius had been in the middle of sipping his pumpkin juice when Ambrosette had made the comment about the Troll. He felt himself cough loudly and spewed some of the juice from his mouth. He stared down at the mess he had made in horror, "Honestly Ambrosette..." He groaned and shook his head. He pulled his wand from his jacket pocket and pointed it at the mess, "Scourgify." He muttered and the orange stain seemed to lift itself from the table cloth that was covering the dinner table.
"I hardly think that's fair." He said, trying to hide the smirk that was playing on his lips. If he laughed, this entire little plot would be worth nothing, "Excuse her, Frank. She's a bit rough around the edges. She was brought up by Merpeople and you know how they often forget their manners." He patted Ambrosette's hand delicately as if he were truly sorry for the way that she had been brought up, "She even thinks she can speak Mermish...tortured little thing."

Ambrosette saw red. She knew she was planning on waiting for a lag in the night but she'd find some other thing toi do then Right now all she wanted to do was pulverize Lucius. How dare he insult Merpeople? Ambrosette slammed her fist to the table and grabbed her glass. She brought it up and broke t over his head, liquid pouring over him as the glass gave way to the hard object it had been slammed into.
"Ahh, so it is true. You do have a thick skull." Ambrosette smiled sweetly as she turned back to the table as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened. "Yes, please do excuse me. I tend to forget my manners. I'm Ambrosette Velna. Gryffindor."

Lucius hadn't been expecting it. He had thought that the two of them had agreed to wait for a lull in conversation in order to pull this stunt. But no. She had smashed the glass over him and the first course hadn't even been served yet. It was going to be a long night indeed. He wiped some of the drink out of his eyes and pulled a piece of glass off of his suit jacket. If she wanted to play dirty, then they would play dirty. Especially since he knew how much the Merpeople struck a nerve. It was like she was encouraging him. If she couldn't keep her temper about the finned race in check then he had no choice but to exploit her.
"Or in Mermish, Imapandaeyedwhore." Lucius said and held up his glass as if he was toasting her, "I love that she taught me some Mermish, Frank. It's a great way to get to know a person...learning their name in Mermish." Frank stared at the two of them like he felt extremely uncomfortable. In fact, his face gave Lucius reason to believe that he was constipated. Poor fellow, Frank had never been the most...appropriate person in the world.

Ambrosette laughed off the comment and put her glass back together with wndless magic. Ambrosette reach her hand over to Lucius thigh and dug her nails in, hard. That was a bit too far. But if he was going to do that, she would retaliate with everything she had. She would not be upstaged here.
Ambrosette leaned towards the table, as if to tell a hug secret, and grinned wide. "I was happy to share Mermish with him. It was the least I could do after what he told me. He recently went in to get tested because it, you know, burns when he pees-" Ambrosette whispered that part as if it were uncomfortable to talk about. "And it turns out he has Chlamydia. I'm just so glad he could share his suffering with me." Ambrosette placed a hand over her heart, nodded slightly with a pained expression on her face.

Lily walked down the hallway as fast as she could, her heels making the familiar clipping noise as she did. Her hand was in James', pulling him along. She wasn't sure what made her grab his hand, but she had, and now she couldn't let go. She was so nervous about walking in late. She had never been late to anything in her life. Let alone a Slug Club Meeting. She was sure that everyone would be staring at her and...she had brought James. Why had she brought James? She could feel her face flushing and she hoped that she didn't look too awful.
She paused briefly before the closed door of the room. She let go of James' hand and absentmindedly fixed his tie, "I'm assuming you know how this works. It's just a parade of the best of the best." She said and brushed off the shoulder of his suit too. She turned sharply and opened the door, "LILY!" She was greeted by the sound of 25 voices and she staggered back a little in surprise. Of course they were excited to see her.
She took a deep breath and walked inside, heading straight for the two seats that had been left untaken. They were near the side of the table. Perfect. She wouldn't have to draw too much attention to herself.

Lucius coughed loudly, "My goodness, Ambrosette. That's hardly talk for the dinner table. I doubt that Frank wants to hear about my...issues." He said as he saw Lily Evans come in. Stupid Mudblood. He thought to himself. He never understood why Slughorn had to invite her. And she had brought Potter. Wonderful. Two of the people he hated most in one room. It was shaping out to be a pretty horrible day. He turned his attention back to Ambrosette and Frank who seemed to be absentmindedly talking.
"You know, Ambrosette was the one who alerted me to the Chlamydia. She said that she had been experiencing some gooping." He nodded slowly and took a sip of his drink that was still close to the top, "I think I got it from her! Isn't that funny how that works out?" He mock playfully punched Ambrosette's arm a little harder than he should have, "Did you get it from Farnis, mate?" He asked her and leaned back in his chair ever so slightly. For the moment he was on top, but he knew that could change in a heartbeat.

James followed after her with a huge smile. This is the place where she belonged. Everyone here loved her. It was amazing to see her in her element. She did look a little taken a back but as she had said. It was a parade off the best of the best. She belonged in it. She was really beautiful honestly.
He squeezed her hand reassuringly, leaning into her as they took there seats. "Don't worry, love, you look fantastic and everyone here loves you. This is your element. I'm counting on you because I'm not used to being polite." James smiled kindly as he turned to introduce himself to the girl beside him with a friendly smile, reassuring the other girl that Lily and him were just friends.
