James frowned as Lily removed her hand from his and bit his lip, pulling his hand back to his lap. If he was going to honor their new friend status then he was going to have to struggle with it. Although, he suddenly very much wanted to maintain contact with her. But if she was worried about looks then-
"I'm gay." James announced as he stood up with a smile. "That'd be why I turned all of you guys down. I'm bent a boomerang" James smiled as he straightened his tie and sat down again, looking at Lily for approval. James really didn't care. It'd actually help him. It'd keep him from tears and pleas and everything else girls tried to guilt him into dating them. He was practically sealing his fate. He only wanted Lily.

Ambrosette had her head in her hands, her face red. She found herself able to stand up ad looked at herself in the mirror. What was she doing? Struggling through some stupid dinner. This was torture and she was so done. Whoever was looking her was the girl who tried extra hard for a guy. Ambrosette pulled out her clutch and fixed her make-up, daring to put her panda eyes back on.
"I'm not coming out, Lucius, no matter what. I'm done with this stupid dinner. You disgust, that dinner disgusts me and Frank Longbottom disgust me. I will never step back into that horrid room again.

Lily bit down on her tongue when James stood up. He was probably going to say something that would just further embarrass her. I'm gay. Her eyes shot up and she stared at him, a bemused expression playing on her lips. Of course he had chosen that as his explanation, it was perfect. She shook her head and patted his shoulder, "Good to see you out of the closet, Potter." She said with a giggle and leaned forward so that she could speak to the Ravenclaw girl that was sitting next to him. Her mouth was still hanging open in surprise.
"Hear that? He's gay." She said and nodded her head, "That's why I brought him!" She leaned back and looked at everyone's expressions. They all seemed to nod in agreement and she figured that it made sense. Of course Lily Evans hadn't brought a real date to the Slug Club Dinner. She didn't have time for boys. She was focused and she was intelligent. Exactly what she needed people to think.

Lucius couldn't help but laugh. She sounded pathetic really, but what had he expected from a Gryffindor. He knew that he probably should have just invited Narcissa Malfoy after all, although she wouldn't cause quite such a stir, she would certainly be more pleasant than this. He nodded when he came to that mental decision and tapped on the door with his knuckle, "That's a shame really, Ambrosette. I was hoping that you would come to the next Dinner with me as well." He was tempted to wink but then he realized that a wink would do nothing for him if it was supposed to go through a door.
"Why don't you just come out and we can talk about this, Velna?" He was rolling his eyes immensely at this point. If she just came out and went back to the party everything would be fine. If she decided that she didn't want to, then he would have to go back alone, "Don't make me explain to them that you can't stop going to the restroom, Ambrosette. That's an awkward conversation that I'd rather not have."

James found it a bit weird that he didn't feel it weird at all. All the girls were staring at him as if he were crazy but he just simple shrugged, eyes on Lily. He smiled like a child and grabbed Lily's hand again, tangling their fingers together. He was gay so it didn't matter anymore. Oh this plan was brilliant. He could play it to his advantage. Just a bit more tweaking and he could touch Lily all he wanted. And if Lily freaked she'd ruin everything.
"Yep, Lily and I are just friends. Best friends! Aren't we Lil?" James questioned innocently, leaning over to snuggle into her neck with a devious smile. He was quite enjoying being gay at the moment as it turned out. Not as bad as everyone says.

Ambrosette slammed her eyeliner down and stared at herself in the mirror. If she was going back she was going to do it her way. She would not be paraded around like some trophy wife. She'd be the right person that Lucius didn't want to see. She'd embarrass him as well as she could.
"I'm done with this crappy make-up" Ambrosette drew a thick line across her lid. "I'm done with my hair up like this." She pulled out her hair and ran her hand through it, messing it up appropriately. "And this stupid dress!" Ambrosette waved her wand over herself and was proud as her dress tightened. She shifted through her clutch and pulled out her fishnets, slipping them on. Ambrosette looked at the plain red dress that still wasn't quite her style. A simple wave of her wand and the fabric on her sides disappeared, leaving a thin strip of fabric holding the two pieces together.
"Fine, Lucius, I'm coming." Ambrosette smirked as she stepped out of the bathroom. "Take this damned Lax spell off of me and I'm all set.

Lily's eyes grew wide when he started to nuzzle her neck. Oh yes, Potter. You'd better eat this up, She thought to herself. He always seemed to get what he wanted. Being gay meant that he could basically do whatever he wanted to her and if she made a scene, it would ruin her reputation. Potter was smarter than she had anticipated, "Best. Friends. Indeed." She said through her teeth, feeling her face grow red. She was getting a little angry at him for playing her, but she managed to mask it as embarrassment. Sheer embarrassment.
"So close it's not even funny." She said and wrapped her arms around his neck giving him a rather violent noogie with her knuckles. Then she flattened his hair, knowing how much he hated having his hair looking pristine, "James and I are closer than we've ever been let me tell you."

Lucius stared at Ambrosette blankly for a few moments, "Why?" He asked shaking his head. She had done something awful to herself....if by awful, what he really meant was that she looked like she normally did. She had reapplied all her funny make-up and messed up her hair and the dress. Oh the dress. Lucius stared at it furiously, "Do you have any idea how much we paid for that dress and you...you've...." He wasn't even sure what he was trying to say. He realized that his eyes were lingering on her chest and he immediately locked eyes with her.
"We're going back now. I expect you to be on your best behavior, little Lioness." He said, and turned to walk back to the room. He didnt even bother to offer her his arm, he wasn't in the mood. The more time that he spent with her, the more he was beginning to think that she deserved the Slytherin title over the Gryffindor one. She was brave and cunning, but she was also extremely ambitious. He growled low to himself and opened the door for her, holding it as he offered her to go inside first.

James ran a frustrated hand through his tidy hair. He preferred the just-got-off-my-broom look. It was a lot more appealing. Maybe. He wasn't exactly sure what Lily liked but he hoped that it was somewhere along those lines. Somewhere along the line that he liked him. She better. Who didn't like the James Potter?
James leaned over Lily's lap with a huge smile on his face. "So, Davey, you free next Hogsmeade weekend. Perhaps you could join Me and my bestfriend Lil for a butterbeer?" Davey looked very much disgusting at James. Obviously he didn't like the fact that he was bent. "No need to play coy, Davey, I know you have dreams about me." James winked and sat up. He was drawing attention to them. He didn't exactly mean to but sometimes James couldn't help it.

Ambrosette put on her best smile over her smirk. She had knocked him speechless for a moment in time and tat was just perfect for her. She wasn't exactly one to be told what to do. And she certainly didn't know what 'best behavior' was. Ambrosette never had been a stickler for manners. Perhaps it was the whole growing up around Merpeople that made her such a brute. She didn't mind it though.
Ambrosette through a look over her shoulder and winked at Lucius, as if she had no clue what she was doing. She put on an innocent expression and bit her lip fore she took her seat. She leaned over Frank Longbottom, placing her hand dangerously close to his very personal parts, making sure to draw attention to it.
"I'm sorry. I hope you don't mind. It was getting a little hot in here." Ambrosette's tone was as if she had just taken off her coat, not removed nearly all her dress.

Lily looked around the room, feeling the eyes of everyone on the pair of them. Since Lucius and Ambrosette had left, they had become the new center of attention. She shifted uncomfortably in her chair as she looked from James to Davey, then around the circle, then at Slughorn, then back to James. She was starting to get even angrier. She had brought him so that she wouldn't look like such a little girl without a date again, but he had managed to make her look like a fool who brought the most obnoxious kind of date. She pressed her fingers to her temple and gulped. She was close to a lash out.
"I've got to go." She said suddenly, standing up from the table and nearly hitting James with her clutch, "I have to finish my 12" Ancient Runes." She said an nodded her head. She pushed her chair away from the table and practically ran out of the room, her face hot with embarrassment and anger. James Potter ruined everything.

Lucius sat down next to Ambrosette and put his face in his hands again. She was ridiculous; acting like she hadn't basically stripped down to nothing. And those tights. He had explicitly asked her not to wear them. But of course she'd done the exact opposite of what he wanted. He guessed he deserved it. The laxatives might have been a pretty low blow. Lucius dared to look up at Slughorn, luckily the man was still absorbed in conversation and hadn't noticed Ambrosette's get-up. He ran his hand through his hair and then returned his attention to the conversation between Frank and Ambrosette.
"Would you like me to ask Professor Slughorn to turn up the air? Perhaps then you can put the dress back on." He said dully and shook his head, "I'm sure that he knows some sort of cooling charm. Would you like my jacket?"

James was out of his seat without an apology and following after Lily quickly, out the door. He nearly ran into a wall that he hadn't remembered being there. He stumbled and spotted Lily's red hair disappearing around the corner. He ran after her, using his Seeker abilities to catch up with her.
"Lil, wait. I'm sorry. Really. Am. Sorry." James was out of breath. He didn't run. He flew around on a broom. Who ran now-a-days. He ruined everything.

Lily turned around and stared at him, "Potter, please." She said and shook her head, putting her hands up to keep him at a distance, "It was embarrassing. Really really embarrassing. I knew it was probably a bad idea to bring someone, but I thought it was worth a shot. I'm just glad it's over. I'll see you around okay? You should go back, dessert is normally really good. Okay?" She put her hands down to her side and forced a sheepish smile as she looked at him. He was good guy. She knew that he was, but there were some things that she just couldn't get past.
"Thanks for trying, Prongs." She said, using his nickname for the first time ever. She had heard his friends calling him that and, although she didn't know what it meant, she thought that it suited him, "I'll see you around. Good luck at the match with Ravenclaw tomorrow!" She turned and headed toward the Gryffindor Common room, desperate for some quiet time.

Ambrosette waved Lucius off, her had slipping an inch closer with a small smirk at Frank. She hated him. She hated this, but it was drawing attention to herself. For as long as she had remembered she had always tried to increase her whore reputation. Being a whore kept you under scrutiny a lot more than anything else. Even if she didn't deserve her reputation she was happy to leave a bitter taste on everyone's tongue after they had uttered her name. It made it ten times better that she was among some of the best people at Hogwarts and Frank wasn't making a move to stop her.
"Now, Now, Lucius. I wouldn't want to be an inconvenience. I was starting to thik that maybe I'm still wearing a bit too much. Wouldn't you agree?" Ambrosette asked with a shrug of her shoulder, tugging at the small straps of her dress.
